The Breakfast Club Spread for Tarot + Oracle Cards

The Breakfast Club is one of the most awesome movies ever made.

I got to thinking lately about the archetypes featured in the movie. We each have all of the archetypes of the tarot within us, and I think we all have all the archetypes featured in the Breakfast Club within us too.

I thought it would be cool to make a spread to help us get some messages from our own inner BASKET-CASE, inner criminal, inner brain, inner athlete and inner princess.

So grab a decaf earl gray and your tarot, oracle, uno or playing cards and let's have a play! :D

CARD ONE: What blocks you from being seen and loved by others?

This card will shed a little light on why sometimes you might struggle to fully connect with others and feel seen and loved when you do.

CARD TWO: Where should you play by the rules?

Sometimes rules are there for a reason. This card will show you how to play the game. (This card may also show you where not to play by the rules!)

How can you stand in your confidence and power?

There is nothing wrong with being a brain or a geek. Freaking own it! This card will show you how. 

How can you better focus your intent and take action?

Taking action is so important, but you have to make sure you have a clear intention and focus otherwise it's just wasted energy. This card will point you in the right direction.

How can you let go of ego and be of service to others?

How can you drop the "what will I get out of it?" and just be of service?

Oracle: Green Door

The only way to find out if the door in front of you is the right one is to walk through it.

This month let go of the idea that you have to be 100% sure before you start walking down your chosen path. If you start moving and change your mind, you can always go back.

We have been doing some awesome work on our self-love and self-care and it's really starting to pay off. YAY us! :D

Celebrate how much awesome work you've been doing with this, and stay on the self-love train.

Career: Hanged Man reversed

When it comes to career this month there's a bit of a feeling of being in energetic limbo.

We're no longer stuck in old energy, but we're not yet fully in flow and moving into the new either. It's a bit of a transitional moment. If you feel stuck, don't stress out, you're not stuck, you're just in the in-between.

Wellbeing: Four of Wands

One of the best ways to fill yourself up this month is to spend time with people who get you.

Self-care is not always about salt baths and reading a YA Novel on the couch, it's also having a good meal with a mate, chatting on the phone to your bezzie or getting out there and meeting some new people with similar interests.

New Moon Magic - 33 ways to work with the energy of the new moon

New moon energy is powerful shiz!

I like working with the Full Moon for releasing, exploring my stuff, doing some deep work and big magic. On the New Moon though, I’m more about taking stock, setting goals and putting it out there.

Everyone works with moon energy differently, so it's really important for you to find what works best for you.

I'm just sharing with you here some of the stuff that works for me. 

Personally, I always wait until after the New Moon has hit before I start using it’s magic (although I start to think about my intentions earlier!), as I feel that it’s much more powerful.

I go with the three days after rule that says you can work with the new moon energy for up to three days after the moon is new. 

So if I miss the new moon, I don’t freak out, I just do my new moon-y stuff the next day. :D But you can work with the New Moon however it feels best to you.

There's no reason at all why you can't use this list anytime you're wanting to call something in.

Create good laptop juju by cleaning out your inbox, desktop and download files

Get your bedroom energy feeling new by changing your sheets

Change your phone screensaver to something relating to your manifestations

Call on Ganesha to clear your blocks to abundance

Call on Lakshmi for success and prosperity. Try this amazing meditation for Rich Witches!

Write down your core desired feelings for this moon cycle and stick them where you’ll see them every day

Make a playlist that goes with your intentions and listen to it every day until the Full Moon

Ask for an abundance of love, happiness, health and prosperity for those you love

Ask for abundance for people you find challenging

Clear out your solar plexus chakra

Clear out all your chakras!

Take a bath with some citrine, essential oils and some chamomile flowers

Work on some of your abundance and money blocks through journaling and card slinging

Write an abundance check

He-Man Spread for Tarot or Oracle Cards x

Last week I posted a She-Ra Spread to help us with standing in our power.

I talked about how I reckoned that She-Ra was an embodiment (uh, cartooniment?) of the Goddess, the Divine Feminine.

And because I'm all about equality of the sexes I decided that it wouldn't be right not to follow up with a He-Man spread for connecting with our own inner divine masculine!

Pop Culture Spirit Guides

Connecting with your spirit guides can be kind of tricky, especially at first.

But actually, even when you've been hanging out with your guides for ages, the thought often does pop in: "what actually are spirit guides?"

I do spirit guide readings + I also help peeps meet and connect and hang out with their guides over at Woo Woo School, and the awesomeness that comes through for people is so varied!

There is a kind of "general consensus" that a spirit guide is the spirit of someone who's had a human life, usually a spiritual life of some kind, and they are with you now, guiding and supporting your journey from the other side.

I personally believe there is no one definition for "spirit Guides".

I have seen spirit guides come through for people in so many different forms.

Many spirit guides working with folks are passed over loved ones, people they've known and loved in past lives, sometimes they are twin flame kind of energies, sometimes they come through as past life versions of you, Galactic Guides, Angels, Ascended Masters and yes, even characters from pop culture.

A spirit guide is spirit energy, which means that they can show themselves to you in the way that you most need to see them, and are able to understand them.

Jesus and Mother Mary, or He-Man and She-Ra? x

And there is no reason at all your guides and Angels can't appear to you as characters from pop culture.

The whole point is to help us to understand and connect with them and their energy.

Your guides may appear to you as pop culture peeps, or you can actively choose to work with them, just like we head over to Doreen V's website to choose an Angel to work with, you can do the same with Pop Culture Spirit Guides! :o

If you feel like you need some energy you see in a character on telly, go ahead and call that energy in!

Some of my fave pop culture spirit guides to call on are:

She-Ra

To me She-Ra is an aspect of Goddess energy. She's the divine feminine dressed to rock out. 

Just like the Celtic Goddesses of like, forever ago, She-Ra is the 80's version of Goddess power, which I think we could all use a little of right now!

Call on her and connect with your own inner-She-Ra Power! And if you wanna connect deeper, check out the She-Ra spread!

He-Man

If She-Ra is the divine feminine, He-Man is totally the divine masculine.

If you're feeling like you could use a little boost to your inner strength or need some protection vibes around you, he's your guy. I see him as really similar to Archangel Michael energy, but more swoll.

Falcor

Falcor has been with me for a while now. I sometimes feel him curled up around me during meditation and when I'm about to fall asleep. Some people think Falcor is creepy, but I think he's adorable, and he always makes me laugh! His energy is protective, but soft and gentle.

Call him in when you need a good night's sleep or fancy a midnight joy ride!

Hoggle

I freaking love the Labyrinth. It's full of spirit guide energy!

Hoggle is such a great spirit guide. He's definitely not a totally perfect dude in the movie, but as a spirit guide he's all positive traits - loyal, helpful and would do just about anything to get you over the Bog of Eternal Stench.

If you could use a true friend, he's the guy to call on.

Ferris Bueller

If you're suffering from a lack of confidence, call on Ferris Bueller to help you get cracking on those dreams! He's a buzzy, high vibe energy and never spares a thought for old beliefs or thought patterns of "I'm not good enough". Pah, who's got time for that? BORING! 

He believes in himself, and he believes that life is there for the taking. Call on him if you need a little of that!

Is it any coincidence that right at the same time the planet needs a major rising of peeps standing in their power She-Ra explodes onto Netflix?

Probably not.

She-Ra is Goddess energy personified and dressed in a very awesome gold and white 80's outfit and I personally feel like she's here to remind all of our inner little girls (boys you too have an inner little girl) of our own divine power and strength in these tricky times!

Imbolc Tarot Spread for connecting with Brigid

Imbolc is an amazing time of the year. It's all about those cold days with just a hint of spring in the air.

The days get slightly longer and the inspiration to get moving on your goals kicks in again.

This spread can be used at Imbolc, or anytime you'd like to connect to the Goddess, The Goddess Brigid, or just reconnect to your own inner flame.

ORACLE: Change

Just when you thought we were all nice and settled into 2017. Well, nope! Although this is the year of the Magician, we are all still navigating through the end of the last 9 year cycle before we're going to feel fully grounded in the new one. Change is occurring out in the world in a big, big way right now, and that's reflecting in our own lives too. 

RELATIONSHIPS: The Fool

A lot of us are transitioning with relationships right now.

Old relationships no longer feel in alignment, but perhaps we're scared to let go of the old because we can't see new tribe members coming in yet. Don't worry, your tribe is coming!

CAREER + CASH: The Hermit

This is a really great month to retreat back into yourself and reassess your dreams and goals. If you already know exactly what you want and how to make it happen, go for it! If you're not sure, no worries. Take it easy. Do your research and focus on bringing your energy back into alignment so you can listen to your soul rather than all the voices around you.

WELLNESS: The Tower

The light you've been working with so much is now shining really brightly on the areas of your life that need to be changed. Where in your life is that light shining? What are you being asked to look at and change in your own life?

SPIRITUALITY: The Sun

Working with the light is mega for us this month, but not only from a place of love and lighting up the world. 

Lightwork is not just about wearing wayfarers and meditating in the sunshine, it's also about being willing to look at all that which the light shows us. Lightwork is shadow work y'all!

The Secret to connecting with your guidance + intuition

There is so much info out in the world right now about how to connect with your intuition, your higher self, your spirit guides and angels. And a lot of it is seriously awesomesauce... 

But what if all those meet your guides and third eye meditations just don't seem to work for you? 

I tried all those things for a long time and didn't really get that far with them. I did have awesome moments of clarity, feelings of being absolutely guided in a certain direction and some major epiphanies, but these were pretty few and far between.

So how did I get from floundering around the spiritual realms to running a spiritual biz, being able to clairvoyantly see people's past lives and spirit guides?

I started working with my own energy.

I'd been working in a pretty challenging job situation with a lot of negativity and other people's energy flying out in a gazillion directions for quite a few years and it was making me miserable.

When I began to understand that I was a HSP or an Empath and was picking up on and absorbing everything around me, everything changed.

Energy centred = guidance flowing! (The beach helps too) x

Being conscious of what was mine and what was not mine was MEGA. It's like carrying around a massive bag on your back for years and then one day actually noticing what's in that bag and realising it's not even your stuff!

Sidenote: I actually think we are all empaths. Some of us numb it or ignore it, some of us embrace it. No path is "right", only what is right for you and your journey.

Energetic protection has been my rock on my spiritual path. Protecting my energy so I wasn't taking on "stuff" from all over started to make it really clear what was actually mine.

I began working with my own energy in different ways - protecting, clearing (because sometimes you do take on stuff, even when you're super protected), grounding, hanging out with the chakra system.

And then guess what happened? Yep, that third eye just freaking opened and My guides and angels just started popping in for tea.

I didn't have to do anything. Of course, I'm still human. I still have times when I struggle to connect, to know what to do next, or work out which path to take, but when this happens, I go back to basics.

Five Crystals for Transition + Change

I don't usually blog about crystals that much, so if you dig this crystal post and want more of them let me know!

K, so we're mid January 2017 and I don't know about you, but I still feel very much like I'm in the transition. I'm still getting used to the energy of this year, working out what it's about and how to work with it to create an awesome year. Oh, PS - if you want to find out more about 2017 check out the free e-book!

These crystals may be useful little tools for you if you're like me and feeling a bit OMG what is this? right now, or if you're going through any kind of transition or change in your life.

I also thought it would be cool to connect these crystals to tarot cards too, to give you some idea of crystals that you can gather round you when these cards pop up in your spreads.

Oh, and like with everything, crystals can totally vibe with different people in different ways, and these are just some ways I connect with these babies...

1. Apache Tears + death

Apache Tears is one of my all time favourite crystals. I nearly put smoky quartz on here, but I felt like actually, change and transition is bloody HARD y'know? 

Apache tears is great for grounding, healing and especially heart healing. It can help bring you back into yourself when you're going through something really difficult.

Perfect for big stuff like break-ups, losing your job, moving country, or just trying to get through any other tough and big change - internal or external.

2. Zebra Jasper - Justice

Zebra Jasper is an awesome grounding and balancing stone.

When we're going through change of any kind it can be really easy to get mega floaty. Having your roots totally ripped out from beneath you sucks. This stone connects with your root and earth star chakra to reconnect those roots, and helps you to balance your chakras and masculine and feminine energies.

3. Botswana Agate - Ace of Cups

A bit of Botswana Agate is very good for soothing the soul and helping you feel calm and chill.

In times of change we can get pretty stressed out and anxious! Botswana Agate has a cool, kind and relaxing vibe which makes it perfect for those moments when you start to feel mega frazzled about your path forward from here. Very good for helping you stay in the now and helping you to fill that cup! Recharge your batteries with Botswana Agate!

4. Amethyst - The High Priestess

I love Amethyst for a violet flame transmutation Saint Germain kind of vibe.

Meditate with your amethyst and visualise yourself in the crystal, with the violet flame around you transmuting all the old and making way for the new.

Amethyst is also great for connecting with your inner knowing which makes making plans and moving forward all that much easier.

5. Tektite - The Star

A little out of left field with this one, but it was like "Vix, Vix! Include me!" so I was like OK little guy!

Tektite is an interesting stone because it's super grounding but it also helps you to open up to the universe, to your ET guides, to the realisation and awe of just how massive everything is.

I mean, start Googling NASA pictures and your mind will be blown in no time. Sometimes when we are going through changes and transitions we are so zoomed in on our own stuff that we forget about the bigger picture. Tektites can  help you put it all in perspective.
