The Week Ahead - 3rd to 9th November

Magical Messages From The Fairies - Doreen Virtue
Magical Messages From The Fairies - Doreen Virtue

This week's messages are brought to you by the Fairies! I used the super cute Magical Messages from the Fairies deck by Doreen Virtue. I love this deck, I picked it up moments after Doreen Virtue herself told me I had 'so many fairies around me'. I'd been working with the fairies for a while, but hadn't really seen much response back from them, but I guess they are working with me, and this week they are working with everyone who reads this!

Monday - Good-bye to the old, hello to the new

Get rid of some old stuff today. Clean out your car, or your closet, your mind or your energy. It feels like we are just finishing off these last few months now, ready to begin again in January, but actually, new things are starting NOW if you are open to them! Something in your life wants to be over. Let it go!

Tuesday - Business venture

A great day to brainstorm some business ideas alone, or with a potential business partner! Maybe you need to spend some time today looking online for jobs or courses. And if you are one of the lucky ones who loves their job - yay for you! But what about working towards a promotion or even sharing some of your skills on a volunteer basis? There is always more we can do with our awesome skills!

Wednesday - Your desire is within reach

Today is about connecting to your faith. It's so easy to get mad at the Universe, hello, I've been there recently myself. Today we do whatever we need to do to reconnect to our 'faith', whatever that means to you. It could be having a cry about everything that's going wrong and letting it all out, throwing a pillow, or just moping around for a couple of hours, but after that you need to take a deep breath, remember what you believe and why and tune back into that.

Thursday - Your wish is granted!

Jiminy Cricket! What a great day to start working on manifesting something! You've reconnected with your faith, now sit quietly and put out into the Universe what you really want. Not just some fancy dress or pair of £800 shoes. No,no, no - what do you really want? Do you want a new job? A life partner? A new house? Travel? Start putting it out into the Universe. I don't want to hear any - 'Oh I think I might want to be a writer someday' kind of vague intentions. No, no. 'I ama writer!' is what you will say, and you'll bloody well mean it! (the word writer is totally exchangeable!)

Friday - Summer & Travel

You need to sow the seeds NOW for what you want to see in your life in six or eight months time. You can't sit on the couch watching Netflix all winter and expect to wake up in Summer with a fun new job. Friday is also a fun day to start planning a getaway. Remember when you travel that you it's not just about you having a good time. When we travel we can help others! Whether it's volunteering in South America, or shining your light on a tiny seaside village, your holiday is not just about you!

Saturday - Winter

We're sowing the seeds for what we want to achieve later down the track but we also need to stop and look around at our lives and be thankful for all we have, and all that we have manifested in our lives so far. Think back to how your life was six months ago or a year ago and be thankful for all you've achieved. Sure, a lot of us have gone through hard times, but we can be thankful for those lessons and move on now knowing we have learnt them and won't have to do that again!

Sunday - New Career

Every weekend we are getting career guidance lately, what's up with that? OK this is a serious message for Sunday - Stop finishing work on Friday, going to the pub and then wasting your whole weekend "having fun" and then going back to work on Monday and doing it all again. It's time to break that cycle and find work that is meaningful to you. It's not going to happen overnight, but like they said on Thursday - sow the seeds now! What do you really want to do career wise?! How do you want to make your money? Read some books about industries you would like to work in, watch a documentary about animal rights, teach yourself tarot. Just do something constructive OK? Even if you love your job, what other skills do you wish you had?!

The fairies have well and truly kicked our butts about this week! They're expecting big things from us, and they totally believe we can do it, or else they wouldn't have wasted their time helping me write this right?!

Also, don't forget to recycle this week! I'm not just talking about regular paper and plastic, but all packaging. Packaging is crazy and it makes me sad when I think about how much of it is in the world, so let's minimise it's impact by recycling everything we possibly can this week! Join the conversation on Facebook and click on the Readings tab for more info about how to get your own personal messages from the fairies!

Wishing you all a busy, powerful fairy light filled week!

Love and light!

The Week Ahead - Don't Stop Movin'

Four of Swords Art Nouveau Tarot OK, I'm going to try and name every single one of these Week Ahead readings after a ridiculous pop song. If you post a video of YOU singing it and tag me in it on YouTube I'll give you a free one card reading. Seriously. Wait, can you even tag stuff on YouTube?! Get it to me somehow and I'll make good on this offer!

So what's going on this week? I've pulled the Four of Swords Reversed straight out of the amazing Art Nouveau Tarot deck, the very same deck that brought you the Scotland Vote results on my Instagram (The Hanged Man!) hours before the BBC. 10 points for me, 0 points for the rioters in the streets the next day. Not cool.

When it's upright this is the card of resting. Not just resting like on the couch with a bag of cheese popcorn while you watch your favourite 80's movies, but more like resting after a big exam, chilling out after a huge week of work or going off on that holiday you've been saving for. This is the card of a deserved rest! You've worked hard and done great and now you can sit on your butt without worrying about doing 'stuff' and finally relax.

But before you start making plans to do absolutely nothing this week and maybe even call in a duvet day - the card this week is reversed. So guess what guys? You will definitely NOT be resting this week! Now that doesn't mean you can't enjoy some chill out time, but if you spend too much time in front of the telly you're probably going to have some kind of guilty feelings about it...

You might find yourself rushing around this week getting errands done, working on projects, working late at work or just being super busy. But there's a message here in the Four of Swords - what we should be focusing on this week are the things that are going to help us flip this card upright. A lot of people see a reversed card in a reading and get bummed as these cards can bring delays and problems, but I like to look at reversed cards as a chance to grow, learn, experience stuff and become stronger.

Do the things this week that you'll be thanking yourself for later. Start that project, clean the house, put up some blog posts, read that book, sign up for that online course or whatever else that's been kind of nagging at you lately.

This is a week of no rest and you'll probably be totally frazzled by the end of it, but by Sunday we will have turned this card around and have a well earned day of rest, right?!

Love, light and a busy bee week!

The Week Ahead - Home is where you choose it

Home Mary Queen of Angels

This week's reading comes from Mother Mary via Doreen Virtue's Mary Queen of Angels oracle card deck. I love working with Mother Mary. Her energy is so soft, loving and yet deeply powerful. When I call on her I often get a feeling that she is standing right behind me, it's gentle and so peaceful and a strong feeling of just being 'loved'.

Today Mary is giving us some guidance about our home, but not in the material sense of home being a place of mud, stone and mortar. This message is about finding your spiritual home. It's about finding your people, finding the right spiritual leaders to follow and actually it's also about finding the place within yourself where you feel comfortable and safe. How do you connect with that place? How do you connect with the divine?

Spirituality isn't religion. We don't have a doctrine to abide by, we are free to choose what works for us, what makes sense to us and live according to what resonates with our own highest self. How amazing is that?! We are so lucky in this day and age that we have this freedom. It was not so long ago that I would've been killed for even whispering these ideas, let alone writing them down and publishing them on the internet!

But here we are, in 2014, and we have the freedom to decide where we want to live, who we want to live with and how we are going to pay our rent. So why not choose our spiritual family and home as well?

Take some time this week to think about your spiritual home. What does it mean to you? Who do you want to live with? Do you want choirs of angels by your bed? A spirit guide to chat to over a cup of tea? Do you want to sit out in nature and commune with the nature spirits and fairies? Do you want to follow the teachings of Jesus and hang a Rosary in your car? Do you want to work with the saints and ask for Saint Christopher's protection while travelling? How about just being in communication with God or the Universe? Do you want to do energy work and raise your vibration through your chakra system? How about reading all the books about Native American spirituality? Cast spells and sit in sacred circles, read the Book of Mormon, try Kundalini Yoga, explore your life purpose through Numerology, read the Tarot, pull some runes, or like me, you might want to try and do all of the above plus so much more!

The message Mary has for us today is that it doesn't matter what you do, or how or who you connect with in your spiritual home as long as you live your life from a place of love and are kind to people, animals and the Earth.

So think about your spiritual home this week, but whatever you find there, and however you find it hold the space and respect those who find it differently. Just because you like apartment living doesn't mean those people living in shipping container houses are doing it wrong. As long as you pay your rent and are kind to the neighbours right?!

And while we are ordering off the spiritual menu, browsing spiritual books on Amazon, playing with our tarot and oracle card decks, reading about various spiritual ideas on the internet and chatting to like minded souls this week, may we all send love and prayers for peace this week to those areas of the world in which people do not yet have the freedom to speak their truth.

Love, light and spiritual choices,

#Caturday cat card - Queen of Cups

[embed]https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WvYIBPAFJ1E[/embed] Hi guys and welcome to #Caturday!

OK I did my video of only my hands because I couldn't be bothered to put on make up, but it's kind of sketchy. I mean why doesn't it focus on the card? And what's that shadow on the side? Yep, I still have a LOT to learn about YouTube.

But it's not about my dodgy video skills, it's about the message right?!

Today we are being reminded not to get too obsessed about our goals in life, whether it's work, love, money, whatever. It's good to have goals and to always be working towards stuff, but when we get too focused on the goal we miss out on enjoying the journey.

Think about what your ultimate work goal is right now. I have two huge ones right now - to be the next Stephanie Meyer or Doreen Virtue. OK so that's kind of crazy, and probably I don't really want to be that 'famous' because I'm actually pretty shy and stuff, but that's the ultimate goal - career and financial success through writing, helping others and creating some really cool stuff. So I can spend hours a day working on that (and I do!) but seriously I can give up all my weekends to work towards this goal (hang on I do that too!) and maybe I will get there! Yay! But once I get there, then what? Well by then I'll already be working towards the next thing right?!

By the time you achieve the goal you're thinking about today you'll already have like ten more goals you are working towards, so just stop for a second.

Breathe.

And remember to enjoy the journey. Because when you think about it, the journey is really all we'll ever have, everything else is just fleeting.

Sending you loads of love, light and trail mix for your journey,

Vix

The week ahead - Where are you going?!

A little late with the week ahead - please forgive me! But like I said on #Caturday whenever you see this post is whenever you are meant to see it, divine timing and all that. Anyway, to celebrate that I got my new Doreen Virtue Guardian Angel Tarot deck, that I just gave away a bunch of free readings and that I'm going to be studying with Doreen in London this week I'm using the new deck! This deck is so sweet and cute and vintage and glittery and I'll do a deck review on YouTube if people want that?! Just shout at me on Facebook about what you want to see on YouTube, and even on this blog!

This week I pulled the Six of Thought, which is based on the Six of Swords. It's the boat card, the water taxi, the asylum seekers, the looking for greener pastures card. It can be a metaphorical boat or literally that you are travelling across the sea... but what does it mean for us right now this week? It's not like we're all going on a cruise.

OK, so when I pulled it I got a real sense of knowing where we are going, or rather, making sure we do know where we are going. We have the boat, we have the oars, but do we know where the hell we are heading? It's time to get clear about the destination and this card and the Angels are telling us to really look at our maps this week. Are we heading in the right direction? Have we veered off course a little? Is our heart telling us to change direction but we're still sailing towards something else?

This week ask yourself these two questions:

<3 where are you heading?

<3 where do you want to be heading?

If you get the same answers to both questions you're on your way - keep on sailing sailor! But if you're drifting towards someplace else  get out your oars and start rowing!

You have the boat and you have the power to steer it in anyway you choose, so where are you rowing your boat to?

Don't know where the hell you are going? Well (prepare for shameless promotion!) I have posted a bunch of readings on my new Etsy store including the Life Purpose reading! Yay! It's NewAgeHipsterStore and it just opened yesterday! OMG Amazement! If there's nothing on there for you but you'd still like a reading just email me, I'm vix@newagehipster.co and we can discuss alternative options. And right now I'm offering 25% discount on any Angel readings with the code ANGELS so get angel-ing if you feel called to do so!

Sending love, light and good solid oars to all who pass this way,

The Week Ahead - Embrace your inner awesome chic (+homework)

Hello Happy Hipsters! Welcome to this week! Oh, here's a thing - just because this post is was posted on a certain day about a certain week, that doesn't mean that it can't relate to you where you are right now - whether it's next week, next month next year or years from now when you're stumbling across this post. Yes, I am very hopefully this blog will last for years! If you feel like this message is for you - it is for you. And that's not just about this post, or this blog, this is about anything you find anywhere anytime.

This week we have the beautiful Empress from the Cosmic Tarot. I love the Empress card already - she's number 3 which is a number I totally resonate with (that's why all the 3's on my Facebook and Instagram and Twitter accounts!) and she's just an awesome woman who's totally embracing her chic power!

OK so this week's message is actually an activity! OMG I love activities! I hope you do too... now you can use your journal and go crazy with this, or you can just think about your answers as you read, or both, or you can make a collage or do a painting or make a video or whatever the hell you feel like!

<3 Think of an awesome chic - the first awesome chic you can think of; celeb or real, and dudes this will work for you too so keep going!

<3 List at least three things that make this chic awesome

<3 List at least three things you have in common with this awesome chic

<3 Now what's one thing you can do right now to be more like this awesome chic? (I'm not suggesting here that you should not be yourself and start acting like Beyonce or whoever, but if there's something about someone else that you wish you were a bit more like then it's totally OK to find that thing within yourself right?!)

Here's my answers...

<3 Think of an awesome chic - the first chic that comes to mind is Cyndi Lauper!

<3 What makes this chic awesome? She totally has her own style, she's an advocate for LGBT rights, she's absolutely gorgeous without fitting the normal standard of beauty.

<3 Three things we have in common - sometimes we have orange hair, we both love singing, and we have both been known to dance on trash cans.

<3 One thing I can do right now to be more like Cyndi Lauper - embrace my weirdness.

So this week I'm embracing my weirdness! I'd love to know what message you all got from your inner awesome chic! :-)

Love, light and embracing your inner awesome!

Non-Negotiables

Scrolling through my Facebook feeds these last few days I keep coming across Louise Androlia's 10 Non-Negotiables. She asked on FB what our non-negotiables are and I realised I didn't really have any... Yikes! So I made some and I hope these inspire you to make your own! :-) <3 Wear whatever I want to wear.

I don't buy into fashion and fads unless I love it - hello neon yellow. Clothing and style is self-expression and although we have to dress 'appropriately' at times, we can still do that in the confines of dressing creatively. You can wear hot pink to the office, and sequin plimsolls are always cool even though they kind of blind people in the street. Oh yeah, but this also comes with not judging others for what they wear too!

10563124_694846903929371_8120980957554205401_n

<3 Be alone

As some kind of introvert I need alone time. I'm not talking about like hours spent in a cave, but more like taking a long shower, or enjoying the alone-ness on the drive to work. Even shopping alone counts as alone time right?

<3 Spend money on that which I value

I'm working on this! It's super important to me and I'm doing OK. I'm trying really hard to make sure I question my purchases and weigh up the value before hitting buy, but I still have lapses... I probably have lapses on everything on this list, but that's OK because I'm human...

<3 Remember - It's OK because you are human...

This one is about not beating myself up for doing 'human things' like spending too much at Topshop or rolling my eyes at fellow motorists.

<3 ...But always try to be better

Learn from my mistakes and every day try to be a better person than I was yesterday, like consciously try not to roll my eyes at motorists or spend too much at Topshop.

<3 Be kind

Always be kind, especially to the people who make your coffee. And be kind to animals, even if you don't like spiders try not to kill them.

<3 Live with a grateful heart

I try to make gratitude lists but I'm not that good at keeping the routine. So instead I try to live with a grateful heart in every moment in every day. OK so sometimes that's hard, especially when someone is on your back or pissing you off... but there is always something to be grateful for, even if it's just tea, or trees or being alive. When drinking a cup of tea I often mentally think - 'I love tea!' and doing that all day about everything is a pretty nice way to go about your day.

<3 Feel joy!

As a 3 life path my life purpose is to be in joy and spread joy so having fun, being silly and enjoying life is totally non-negotiable!

<3 Not apologising for who I am

I'm not sorry I'm a nerd, geek, weirdo, dress like a teenager, tarot reader, angel communicator, wannabe YA fiction author, 80's enthusiast, karaoke queen, pole dancer, not a natural redhead, tree hugger, Unicorn lover, Jesus crusher (I mean I have a Jesus crush right, not that I actually would crush him), star person, possible Atlantean, incarnated angel and part elemental, not really cool enough to be an actual hipster even though I call this page new age hipster, and I like Taylor Swift. #sorrynotsorry!

10421145_672435309503864_7327334543913971743_n

<3 Connecting with the 'divine'

Every day I do something to connect with God/Universe/Whatever you want to call it. Whether it's Tarot, pulling an Angel card, having a chat with whoever's around me from the light while I'm getting ready for my day, oh - and always asking for protection and getting in my golden bubble!

1504095_695334430547285_3327566160890095655_n

OK, now it's your turn! What things are non-negotiable for you?!

Love, light and non-negotiable lists!

The Week Ahead - There's no place like home

photo (46) How did we all go with our spending last week?! Anyone weigh up any good purchases? I actually spent a lot more than I had planned, but it was all because I went on an impromptu trip to the seaside! A gorgeous little B&B, some nice food out and about, a few beers and a hand full of crystals - hello hand-sized rose quartz! - but it was money well spent. A weekend I'll always remember and some trinkets that will last longer than a new pair of shoes. :-)

Anyway, that's all about last week and I hope your week was totally wonderful but right now we're looking ahead to this coming week! I pulled a card today from Doreen Virtue's Mary, Queen of Angels deck, which is a super cute and peaceful deck and reminds me of how I've been thinking about doing deck reviews - do people want to read deck reviews? And the card I pulled, after asking Mary for a message for anyone who sees this, is 'Home'. Ah! A week to think about home... you can clean it, you can invite people over to it, you can buy some flowers or a new picture to put in it (if it's inline with your higher self spender! Haha!) or you can even start looking for a new one if you think you're in the wrong one. Whatever it is this week we need to give a little love to our homes. They protect us, they keep us warm, they are a necessity like food and water and all we do is complain about how we don't like the carpets! (Guilty!)

When I was at the lovely Louise Androlia's workshop last weekend (I'm still half way through writing a blog post about it!) we talked about space clearing and this might be a good week to do some space clearing! Space clearing (if you're new to the idea) is how we move negative or stale old energies out of our house and replace them with new sparkling shiny ones! It's like metaphysical dusting!

Here's my top five ways to space clear!

<3 Loud pop music (anything 80's) and dancing around! Best way to get some joy into a space!

<3 Lighting a candle or a bunch of candles and letting the light shine!

<3 Fresh flowers or a new pot plant depending on your budget!

<3 Sage or incense. I'm not a huge fan of the smell of sage, it's OK, but I only use it for like serious space cleansing cases (you know like ghosts or whatever). I like to open all the doors and windows and then walk around wafting a stick of lavender incense everywhere - make sure you get it into the corners!

<3 Vacuuming! Real life vacuuming and also asking Archangel Micheal to vacuum the negative energy at the same time! Oh yeah I totes vacuum with Archangel Micheal and that so needs to be a sticker or a badge - "I vacuum with Archangel Micheal!" (That is so copy write!)

Mostly though, you have to do what feels right to you! I'd love to hear how you cleanse your space!

Let's do something nice for our homes this week, even if it's just to feel gratitude for the place we live. Remember guys - there's no place like home, there really, really isn't! :-)

If you are waiting for a free reading I thank you for being patient! I have like 70 requests in my inbox right now and doing about 5 a day! Stick with me I hope it'll be worth it!

Love, light and metaphysical dusting!

The Week Ahead - Old robes vs Kardashian wardrobes

photo 1 (7) Another weekly reading brought to you by the suit of coins. Sorry! Last week we had the lovely tea and chat with the angels, but guess what? It's back to being kicked in the butt - no cookies on the table today!

So the question this week is - are we spending money in alignment with our higher selves? I bought some clothes on ASOS the other day, maybe I didn't really need them. Maybe I should be living a holy life in scratchy robes and old sandals. Argh! But we can't live in robes and sandals on this planet right now, not unless we go off the grid at least. In my life right now I live in a city and I work in a public place and there's a dress code. I'm not even allowed to wear sandals.

So where do we draw the line between dressing like a monk and spending like a Kardashian? How do we know how much is OK and how much is too much? Obviously our bank accounts can give us some advice about that, but using how much is in your bank account to gauge how much you can spend leads you to doing what I did last month - nearly hitting zero!

So the real question here is how do we get into alignment with 'good' spending?! Right, let's pull another card...

photo 2 (8)

Looks like we need to put our purchases on the metaphorical scale of spending Justice!

Imagine on one side of the scale sits your glowing gorgeous higher self (a mini version, obviously your higher self is bigger than can fit on a scale!) and on the other put your purchases. Do they balance out? Is your ASOS shopping spree too heavy?! Is your once a month 50p charity shop buy a little too light?!

We can also think of our higher self as a 'person' and ask them what they think of our purchases too - hold up that shirt to your higher self in the changing room and see if she/he nods or shakes her/his head. Before clicking on 'purchase' look over at your higher self standing over by the pot plant, are they giving you that look? Or are they nodding with approval - after all your higher self wants you to feel good right?! It's OK to buy stuff that will make you feel good, but spending money on crap you don't even like doesn't make you feel good!

Put your purchases on the scale and see how they line up this week! I'd love to know if this resonates and works for you guys and I'll be reporting back on my progress at this at the end of the week! :-)

In other weekly news - I still have loads of free 3 card readings to give away so hook it up if you haven't already! I've finally put up a page of Praise featuring some of the amazing and wonderful feedback I've had so far and I've started putting up some links to some of the amazing people out in the world who have helped me so much on my journey so far, check them out! One of whom is the lovely Louise Androlia who I met yesterday at her wonderful double energy + surrender workshop which I'll be blogging about in the next few days. :-)

Love, light and weighing in the spending!
