Today in Tarot FAQs we will be talking about these three guys; Fate, Fortune and Free Will. There's a lot of us out there who want a Tarot Reader to just tell us what's going to happen. I've been to readers a few times and I'm like - "just tell me if New Age Hipster is going to be a thing or not," because some Tarot card readers are seriously awesome at predictions! I've even been known to make some pretty crazy accurate ones myself, but the question I want to present you with today is this:
Does the future card come true because it's fate, or does it happen because you make it happen? :O

We all have our own ideas about Fate. Some of us think certain things, or everything, is set in stone, outcomes are fated and our destiny is what it is. It's the idea that we have very little control over the events of our lives. There is a bigger plan for our lives and we just have to go with it.
People who put their faith in fate are the ones who get a reading to prepare themselves for their future. They ask questions like "are we going to get married?" or "when will I get a job?"
People who aren't that into the idea that everything is pre-destined are more likely to ask questions such as "what's blocking me from meeting someone and getting married?" or "what kind of job will make me happy?"
Whatever you feel about fate is absolutely perfect for you and your journey!

Fortune Tellers used to be a big thing, and actually, they still make pretty fab entertainment. If you want me to dress up old school and read your future at an event somewhere in the Leeds area just let me know. But mostly, Tarot Readers seem to be moving away from just telling you what's going to happen and using Tarot as a tool for personal development, decision making, connecting with your spiritual team, helping you connect with your own intuition and on and on. Tarot can do a lot more for you than just telling you who you are going to marry and how many kids you will have.
Many, many moons ago I had a crush on this guy. I really wanted something to happen with him but it just never did. A friend did a reading for me and it said something would happen with this guy and soon! Well, wasn't I ecstatic!? I began texting him like mad and chasing him all over the city, until finally, something happened. Let's just say he was so not the guy for me, but afterwards I wondered... did it happen because it was destiny? Or did I make it happen because I saw it in the cards? :O
<3 Free Will
That little story brings me nicely into some thoughts about free will, and how I read cards for you.
Yes, I do predictive readings and yes I can give you an insight into what is very likely to happen if you keep trotting down a certain path. Yes I can tell you what is likely to happen if you change course.
But I will also tell you that what you do with this information is up to you. If you like what you see in the cards - you must play your part to make it happen. If you don't like what you see - you can change it.
While some things are out of our control, you have a huge amount of free will and power to change your circumstance. I see part of my job as a Tarot Reader to remind you of your own power in even the shittiest of situations. That guy might not like you back, but you can choose whether to try everything and make him fancy you, or move on and find something sweeter.
I think fate and free will are kind of meant for each other. Fate brings us our tea and free will allows us to decide how much sugar and milk we put in. Free will gives us the choice to get comfy and drink our tea, or to leave it untouched on the table.
I think Forrest Gump explained it all very well when he said:
"I don't know if we each have a destiny, or if we're all just floating around accidental-like on a breeze, but I, I think maybe it's both. Maybe both is happening at the same time."
I believe the Universe, our Guides, Angels and others with us from the light are all guiding us and helping us to create the best life possible for ourselves here, but not dictating the story to us. We create our own story.
